Families are invited to be builders for the day at the Big Build at the National Building Museum. All ages can discover what it’s like to don a hard hat, pour cement, spackle a wall, and much more as you work side-by-side with experts. Meet contractors, plumbers, electricians, iron workers, landscape architects, woodworkers, and experts in many other fields to learn about their professions and hobbies.
This year you can:
- Explore real construction vehicles
- Pour cement
- Discover the inner workings of elevators
- Illuminate lights and learn about electricity
- Explore home remodeling
- Try augmented reality
- Join author Joshua David Stein for a special story time and activity featuring his new book, Brick Who Found Herself in Architecture
- Visit Museum exhibitions
