The Philip Hubert Frohman Architectural Drawings Collection encompasses projects from around the country designed by the Washington National Cathedral’s principal architect, Philip Hubert Frohman. The Collection consists of over 4,000 historic architectural drawings, over 600 photographs and promotional renderings, and 13 linear feet of business documents and correspondence associated with Frohman and his firms and partners. The Collection is comprised of original sketches on trace paper, correspondence with contractors and clients, and construction and detail drawings for woodwork, ironwork, stone carving, stained glass, floor plans, site plans, and elevations. Dating from 1908 to 1968, the Collection contains materials pertaining to over 60 Frohman designed buildings in 23 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico. Included among these are the Cathedral Church of St. Luke in Orlando, Florida and the Cathedral of the Incarnation in Baltimore, Maryland.
