WASHINGTON, D.C.–June 20, 2024— The National Building Museum is thrilled to announce that renowned Domino Artist and YouTube sensation Lily Hevesh will be an artist-in-residence for DESTINATION DOMINO from Thursday, July 11, through Saturday, July 20.
Known for her extraordinary domino creations, Hevesh and her team of 10 expert builders will be crafting stunning structures and mosaics using over 100,000 dominoes in the Museum’s West Court and will attempt a record-breaking thirty-four-foot tower in the East Court. The residency will culminate in an eight-minute domino topple on Saturday, July 20.
Hevesh, whose YouTube channel Hevesh5 has amassed more than one billion views, blends physics, mathematics, engineering, and artistry into her domino setup designs. At the Museum, she will draw inspiration from the architectural grandeur of the Great Hall to construct a project on a colossal scale.
“DESTINATION DOMINO invites visitors to step into a world of innovation and wonder with Lily Hevesh,” said Aileen Fuchs, president and executive director of the National Building Museum. “Prepare to be amazed by domino structures pushing the boundaries of design, each intricately crafted to blend artistry with scientific precision. It’s more than just a spectacle—it’s an invitation to explore, learn, and be inspired by the limitless possibilities of Domino Art.”
