The Building Readers Club is your guide to explore the world of architecture, engineering, construction, and design found in the pages of children’s books. The primary educational program of the National Building Museum’s exhibition Building Stories, the Club provides suggested books to read and monthly activities to inspire children to find their place within a complex world and become agents of change for a more sustainable, equitable future in their own neighborhoods and built communities.
Children in kindergarten through eighth grade, along with their families, are invited to sign up for Building Readers Club. Joining the Club is free and easy. Your membership includes:
- Monthly age-appropriate activities and book suggestions
- Free access to the Building Stories exhibition and special family-friendly “Club” activities at the Museum four days per year
- Monthly newsletter with deeper dives into featured books and tips for activities
- Free book and prize giveaways
- Early access to Building Stories programming
Building Readers Club is supported by the DC Public Library Foundation and The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation.
